7 Incredible SEO Tools That Will Supercharge Your Business

Want to take your SEO to the next level?

You need a tool to help you, but you don't know which search engine marketing tools to pick.

I'll tell you about some of the best SEO tools on the market in this post.

This style list isn't like most "best of" lists...

I'm going to tell you what I think about each one and how it might fit into your SEO plan and go beyond what is promoted.

I'll also give a brief overview of each tool at the end.

Before we begin, a few words:

  • The best SEO tool for you will depend on your needs, so don't skip over the ones further down the list. The only reason each tool has a number is to make it easy to quickly read.
  • I left out some very powerful SEO tools. The reason for this is that I either had trouble with the tool or haven't used it enough to report back to you.
  • Do not ask me to add your company if it's not on this list.

Let's get going.

Here at The Global Citizen Guide we live an international lifestyle with the financial freedom that comes from running internet businesses. Do you want to know how you can achieve that too? CLICK HERE to get instant access to the FREE Digital Pioneer business course!

1. SE Ranking

SE Ranking is one of the best all-around SEO tools on the market, but it's best known as a rank tracking tool. It's also one of the cheapest.

It can do more than just watch your rank. You can use it to do keyword research, site audits, on-page SEO, backlink analysis, SEO reporting, and more.

It's pretty cool that this all-in-one SEO tool can track changes to pages, which I haven't seen in many others.

Furthermore, it is very competitively priced compared to other tools, even though the price is still mostly based on the keywords you want to check.

What amazes me most about SE Ranking is how much their backlink collection has grown. It looks like their index isn't quite as big as Ahrefs', but it's still useful.

Along those lines, keep in mind that more sites tend to block Ahrefs. Combining link data from SE Ranking and Ahrefs would probably give you a more full picture of your backlink profile.

2. SEO PowerSuite

I still use SEO PowerSuite, which was one of the first SEO tools I ever used.

Link Assistant helps you build links, SEO Spyglass looks at backlinks, Website Auditor checks your site and does on-page SEO, and Rank Tracker checks your rank and does keyword research.

But some people might not like that it's software that you run on your computer instead of a SaaS app. That's one of the things that makes it so useful, though.

This is why:

Most of the time, when you use online SEO tools, you are using their system resources. That means they can cost a lot.

For the safety of other users, most of them will limit the number of projects, websites, keywords, and pages that can be enabled. That makes sense, right?

But because SEO PowerSuite is software, you can use it on as many websites and projects as you want, so it's a great deal. You can also save your work to Dropbox and run the software on more than one device if you need to.

Some people might not find this SEO software to be very useful, but it is great for some situations.

It's important to note, though, that the software does have some SaaS parts. For example, SEO Spyglass's backlink database is run by SEO PowerSuite's own computers. There are also a huge number of links and pages in the database.

3. Semrush

For a number of years, Semrush has been one of the best all-in-one SEO tools.

It is so much more than just an SEO tool, even a "all-in-one" SEO tool. Calling it that would be unfair to the company as a whole.

For sure, they have a strong site auditor, a huge database of backlinks, one of the best competitive research tools for SEO, and a great rank tracker. They also do a lot of keyword research.

Semrush's toolbox has a lot more than just that. It has social media scheduling, social media analytics, brand tracking, content optimization, and a lot more.

And just when I thought I knew everything Semrush could do, I found a whole tool for reaching out. So cool.

Semrush isn't for everyone, just like the other tools on this list. You can pay a lot for features you don't need if you need a certain feature, and it takes a long time to learn.

Of course, having so many features isn't always a good thing.

Semrush is a great choice if you want one tool to power all of your marketing activities. If you're looking for a tool that can quickly pull out certain information or a function that does a certain thing, it might not be the best choice.

4. Ahrefs

Ahrefs has always amazed me with how much they've done with such a small team.

From a backlink research tool to a full SEO suite with link monitoring, rank tracking, site auditing, and more, it has grown over time.

And for years, they were the best backlink research tool out there. Now that it's 2019 and other tools on this list have caught up to them, but they still have the biggest collection of backlinks.

It's pretty amazing when you think about how much money their rivals have.

Their backlink database isn't the only thing they have; they also have a unique keyword study tool. You can get keyword info from Google, but you can also look up keywords for Amazon, YouTube, and other sites.

When it comes to all-in-one SEO tools, Ahrefs is a good choice, but watching your rank costs a lot of money. This is why I only use SE Ranking to keep track of my ranks.

And the limits on their cheaper plans can be a pain. As an example, I have the cheapest plan, but I miss out on a lot of data. Like, I can't see what topics websites are ranking for unless they are ranked higher than 21. I pay a lot for limited access to their Site Explorer even though I don't use their site auditor or rank tracking.

They just recently added a free service to compete with Google Search Console. That's why you can get a lot of backlink and search traffic info for your own site.

Some worry about what they might do with the data if you choose to use Google Search Console to check it.

No matter what, this is a great free service that gives you a lot of info for your site.

5. Mangools

The SEO platform Mangools has a number of tools, such as KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, and SiteProfiler.

This is a good choice if you need to look at backlinks, track your rank, or do topic research.

It's the easiest SEO tool I've ever used, and the design is great.

It's not as advanced as some other tools for topic research, but the fact that it's easy to use and doesn't cost too much more than makes up for it.

For those who are new to SEO, this is a great tool to use because it is easy to use and doesn't cost as much as other tools.

6. BuzzStream

BuzzStream has been around longer than any other outreach tool on the market.

BuzzStream is one of many outreach tools out there, so it's important to know how it fits in.

BuzzStream is meant to be a single tool that can power your whole outreach effort. From doing research and sending emails to keeping track of people and writing reports, what needs to be done.

If all you want is a quick and easy way to send out outreach emails and don't care about keeping relationships alive, this isn't the right tool for you.

But this is the kind of marketing tool you'll need if you want to make the most of every chance and turn a quick win into many wins over time.

Also, the CRM is pretty great. And as the owner of a site that gets a lot of spam, I can tell you that most brands don't coordinate their marketing. They show up on other sites, which is annoying, and it makes you look stupid.

So you don't burn bridges before they're even built, BuzzStream gives you the tools you need.

7. Awario

If you know about Awario, you know that it's not just an SEO tool. That's not at all what it's for... or does it?

Additionally, Awario is the best social media listening tool on the market, and you can also use it for SEO.

In what way?

You probably already know that one of the best ways to get good backlinks is to reach out to bloggers.

The problem is that most SEOs read the same pieces and take the same courses, which only teach a few different ways to find links. This means that everyone finds the same pages.

So, if you want to find link-building chances that haven't been used much yet, try listening on social media.

Wrapping Up

Let's take a moment and review a quick summary of each tool and what they bring to the table:

  1. SE Ranking - All-in-one SEO tool that strikes a good mix between price and usefulness. It comes with great reporting tools.
  2. SEO PowerSuite - For freelancers who run a lot of sites, this is the best SEO tool. There are a lot of features in the free version, but you can't save tasks.
  3. Semrush - The all-in-one business tool with the most features. Take care of your SEO and a number of other marketing tasks, like setting posts for social media, etc.
  4. Ahrefs - It's a powerful tool for researching competitors and looking at backlinks, but their price point is significantly greater compared to other tools.
  5. Mangools - It's best for newbies because it's easy to use and affordable.
  6. BuzzStream - The best tool I've tried for reaching out. Do some research, send some emails, and keep track of your efforts.
  7. Awario - The best social listening tool on the market. This will help you find link opportunities that your rivals aren't looking for.

When you use SEO as a business method, you need tools to help you.

With the right tools, you can save a lot of time and learn things about your competitors that you wouldn't guess. These tools in particular are a great place to begin.
